Nitrogen in Tires

Nitrogen in Tires Question: What improves nitrogen in tires than air? I see a great deal of tires with the green top demonstrating they are loaded up with nitrogen. Is there any bit of leeway to placing nitrogen in my vehicle tires rather than packed air? How can it work? Answer: There are various reasons why nitrogen is desirable over air in vehicle tires: better weight maintenance prompting expanded mileage and improved tire lifespancooler having fevers joined by less weight variance with temperature invariable inclination toward wheel decay To get why, its accommodating to survey the arrangement of air. Air is for the most part nitrogen (78%), with 21% oxygen, and littler measures of carbon dioxide, water fume, and different gases. The oxygen and water fume are the atoms that issue. Despite the fact that you may figure oxygen would be a bigger particle than nitrogen since it has a higher mass on the intermittent table, components further along a component period really have a little nuclear span as a result of the idea of the electron shell. An oxygen atom, O2, is littler than a nitrogen particle, N2, making it simpler for oxygen to move through the mass of tires. Tires loaded up with air empty more rapidly than those loaded up with unadulterated nitrogen. Is it enough to issue? A 2007 Consumer Reports study thought about air-expanded tires and nitrogen-swelled tires to see which lost weight all the more rapidly and whether the thing that matters was noteworthy. The investigation contrasted 31 diverse vehicle models and tires expanded to 30 psi. They followed the tire pressure for a year and discovered air-filled tires lost a normal of 3.5 psi, while nitrogen-filled tires lost a normal of 2.2 psi. As it were, air-occupied tires release 1.59 occasions more rapidly than nitrogen-filled tires. The spillage rate shifted generally between various brands of tires, so if a maker suggests filling a tire with nitrogen, its best to regard the exhortation. For instance, the BF Goodrich tire in the test lost 7 psi. Tire age likewise made a difference. Probably, more seasoned tires collect small breaks which make them increasingly broken with time and wear. Water is another particle of intrigue. On the off chance that you just ever top off your tires with dry air, the impacts of water arent an issue, yet not all blowers expel water fume. Water in tires ought not prompt tire decay in current tires since they are covered with aluminum so they will shape aluminum oxide when presented to water. The oxide layer shields the aluminum from further assault similarly chrome ensures steel. Nonetheless, on the off chance that you are utilizing tires that don't have the covering, water can assault the tire polymer and debase it. The more typical issue (which I have noted in my Corvette, when I have utilized air instead of nitrogen) is that water fume prompts pressure vacillations with temperature. On the off chance that there is water in your compacted air, it enters the tires. As the tires heat up, the water disintegrates and extends, expanding tire pressure substantially more altogether than what you see from the extension of nitrogen and oxygen. As the tire cools, pressure drops apparently. The progressions diminish tire future and influence efficiency. Once more, the size of the impact likely is affected by brand of tire, period of tire, and how much water you have in your air. The Bottom Line The significant thing is to ensure your tires are kept expanded at the best possible weight. This is substantially more significant than whether the tires are swelled with nitrogen or with air. Be that as it may, if your tires are costly or you drive under outrageous conditions (i.e., at high speeds or with extraordinary temperature changes through the span of an excursion), its justified, despite all the trouble to utilize nitrogen. On the off chance that you have low weight however ordinarily load up with nitrogen, its preferable to include compacted air over hold up until you can get nitrogen, yet you may see a distinction in the conduct of your tire pressure. In the event that there is water in with the air, any issues will probably be enduring, since theres no place for the water to go. Air is fine for most tires and ideal for a vehicle youll take to remote areas, since compacted air is significantly more promptly accessible than nitrogen.

Self Analysis Based on Banduras Theory free essay sample

The manner in which we think, how we treat individuals, how we talk, how we see others, and so forth are significant for us. That implies it’s the viewpoints that our folks or condition instructs/sustains us. Self-thoughtfulness is significant for us. Particularly for brain research understudies, provided that we don’t think about what our identity is, how might we get others. In this hypothesis Bandura needs us to communicate our own contemplations about ourselves. We are relied upon to control ourselves from anything that we need to confront. So as to control ourselves, we have to have our own point of view and remain focused on it. We can’t let anybody trouble or influence us in any capacity. II. SELF ANALYSIS LEARNING Bandura accepts that individuals learn through watching others and by taking care of the outcomes of their own activities. Despite the fact that he accepts that support helps learning, he battles that individuals can learn without fortification and even of a reaction. We will compose a custom exposition test on Self Analysis Based on Banduras Theory or then again any comparable subject explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page There are two sorts of learning, observational learning and enactive learning. Observational taking in implies that we gain from displaying others. For kids, primarily guardians, educators, parental figure, or anybody who’s near the youngster. I realize that it is unthinkable that I’m the one in particular who experienced this period of learning, each kid must’ve replicated demonstrations of others dependent on what they see. At the point when I was 2 years of age, I was heading off to some place along with my folks. Out of nowhere a vehicle goes through and cut our path, at that point I shouted, â€Å"ape lo? (what do you need? )† to that vehicle. My folks were stunned and giggled about it. That shows that I displayed what they ordinarily manage without understanding that those demonstrations can truly influence kids. Demonstrating doesn't generally happen while we were as yet youthful; it is appended to our self. We will in general model individuals who has higher situation than us and individuals who got positive criticisms on what they simply did. Bandura perceived four procedures that oversee observational realizing, which are consideration, portrayal, conduct propagation, and inspiration. I took expressive dance for a long time since I was 3 years of age. For moving, the most significant angle that we have to do is focus on the instructor so we can speak to the move step by retaining them. After we see and remember the move step, we will attempt to recreate them by rehearsing the move steps that we’ve learned. The exact opposite thing is our own inspiration whether we are persuaded on the grounds that we got positive inputs or not in view of negative criticisms. Be that as it may, we despite everything can continue attempting and rehearsing so as to get the positive inputs. Enactive learning is equivalent to operant molding, which implies that we get outcomes on anything that we do. We will get reward in the event that we accomplish something that’s great or right. Be that as it may, conversely, we will be rebuffed on the off chance that we accomplish something terrible or wrong. There are sure and negative parts of both support and discipline. Psychologically anybody don’t need to be rebuffed, that’s why individuals tend not to rehash their slip-ups and attempt to get more award by doing the correct things. For a mind-blowing duration as my parents’ youngster, I got strengthened and rebuffed a great deal. Negative fortification methods expelling torment or anything awkward with the goal that we can feel much improved. Me taking a medication when I got sick implies that I got negative support, though uplifting feedback implies that we get something for our pleasure. This happens a considerable amount as well, at whatever point I accomplish something my folks will in general give me something that I need as a prize. At the point when I accomplish something incorrectly, I’ll get rebuffed without a doubt. Negative discipline implies that my pleasure have been renounced from me. As of recently when I got terrible score or get back home late, I will get grounded. My folks will remove my telephone and I’m not permitted to go anyplace with my companions for quite a while. What's more, for positive discipline, it’s a demonstration that cause us feel awkward. I once in a while got positive discipline, yet I got my things tossed into me by my mother. It’s on the grounds that I spend a lot on Japanese CDs, DVDs, merchandise, magazines, and so on and charged it to my Visa. My mother instructed me to lessen my spending on those things, yet I continue doing it. At long last my mother got extremely frantic and tossed those things towards me. From that point forward I quit spending my cash on those shippers. TRIADIC RECIPROCAL CAUSATION Social subjective hypothesis holds that human working is formed by the complementary connection of conduct, individual variables, including comprehension, and ecological eventsâ€a model Bandura calls triadic corresponding causation. In differential commitments, Bandura doesn't recommend that the three factors in the triadic proportional causation model make equivalent commitments to conduct. The overall impact of conduct, condition, and individual relies upon which factor is most grounded at a specific second. What's more, in chance experiences and happy occasions, the lives of numerous individuals have been on a very basic level changed by an opportunity meeting with someone else or by a serendipitous, startling occasion. Chance experiences and accidental occasions enter the triadic corresponding causation worldview at nature point, after which they impact conduct similarly as do arranged occasions. I do accept there is destiny. Particularly when we’re discussing fellowship. Along these lines, it was back in middle school. I was a major aficionado of a Japanese boyband called NEWS, there was a worldwide discussion for the fans from everywhere throughout the world. Also, in the Indonesian theme room, I met some Indonesian who experience all over Indonesia and some abroad. At that point I met my companion. She was in a similar age as mine and lives in Jakarta as well. We share such a great amount for all intents and purpose. Until one day we chose to get together, and we did. It was so fun. We could talk anything with one another even outside the subject of the Japanese boyband. We did almost lost contact, yet in the long run we did even now stay in contact. At that point she lost enthusiasm for that Japanese boyband, however we remained companions. She’s now probably the closest companion. From the entirety of the chances I discovered one of my closest companion through the web. It’s for sure entertaining and senseless, even our companions consider our gathering as nerdy and odd. We even still giggle at how we met. In any case, when you are destined to meet or realize that individual, it will occur. HUMAN AGENCY CORE FEATURES OF HUMAN AGENCY According to Bandura, human office is the substance of humanness; that is, people are characterized by their capacity to compose, manage, and authorize practices that they accept will create alluring outcomes. Human has 4 center highlights, which are purposefully, thinking ahead, self-sensitivity, and self-brilliance. Purposefully actually implies that we have the expectation or plan that incorporates activity to create the outcome that we need. I anticipated traveling to another country for school back when I was still in middle school, that’s why I purposefully enlisted to a universal secondary school. In any case, when I father adjusted his perspective that I can’t travel to another country for school, I changed my arrangement to select to UI International Program. I despite everything need to concentrate abroad. At that point from the outset my father won’t favor, and conversely my mother advised me to pull out all the stops. At the point when my father advised me to take the SNMPTN and SIMAK test I purposely flopped on those test with the goal that I could enter the worldwide class. Since I know how much my father needs me to be in this college and I disclosed to him about how developed that I’d be to leave this nation and study abroad. Thinking ahead is our capacity to set objectives and choosing the conduct that will deliver the results that we want and keep away from things that we don’t need it to occur. I anticipated going to graduate school directly after I finish my undergrad contemplates. That was my arrangement since I chose to take brain science back when I was still in middle school. I have the will to accomplish this objective of mine. That’s why I will at present continue concentrating so I can get in to graduate school as I arranged previously and I wont let anybody upset my objective or even let myself occupied. I will to accomplish my definitive objective and be a fruitful advisor. Self-responsiveness is the way toward spurring and directing our own activities to satisfy our decisions that we’ve made. So as to accomplish my objective on being an effective clinician/specialist I need to continue contemplating and accomplishing passing marks so that there won’t be any trouble when it’s time to enlist myself to a master's level college. I need to continue concentrating on my objective and not letting any person or thing meddle with it. Albeit right now my evaluations are not fulfilling, I despite everything need to stay aware of it and attempt to fix my scores. I despite everything must be inspired on the grounds that being here was my own decision since the start. I must be focused on myself. Self-brilliance permits us to consider and assess our intentions, qualities, and life objectives. By assessing myself, I find that I’ve accomplished pretty much every objective that I’ve made. I’m happy with it, yet there are as yet two or three objectives that I need to accomplish. I despite everything need to improve my scholarly accomplishment. Every one of these years I passed my courses with just normal scores. I belittled my scores; I generally felt that as long as I pass it’s OK. In any case, in actuality I must have the option to accomplish more. I feel that I’m excessively less persuaded, I feel happy with my normal score. The main thing that makes me stress is the point at which I come up short or got not exactly normal score despite the fact that I realize that it’s my own shortcoming. I need to improve my perspective and ideally accomplish higher scores. SELF-EFFICACY How individuals act in a specific circumstance depends to some extent on their self-viability, that is, their convictions t

Classroom Routines and Schedules for Teachers

Classroom Routines and Schedules for Teachers Set up a routine for your classroom procedure on the first day. Your students will feel organized and the days will run more smoothly. New teachers will find this resource particularly valuable. Updated on: January 25, 2007 What are the best routines and schedules to use in a  classroom?   Routines are a way of managing the classroom. They are a set of expectations and procedures teachers can use to save time and ensure a smooth-functioning classroom all school year long. Here are some routines and procedures for you to use in your classroom: Fire Alarm Remember the Rule of Five: there should be absolutely no more than five rules posted in the classroom. More than that will be confusing, overwhelming, difficult to remember, and perhaps even perceived as dictatorial by students. One of the first things you'll need to address early on the first day are the rules and routines of the classroom. Some very interesting educational research suggests that when rules and procedures are established and discussed during the first days of school (and reinforced again during the first three weeks), the class runs more smoothly and behavior problems are minimized. Ask yourself the following questions, then share the answers with your students on the first day: How will students respond in class? (raising hands, a signal or sign) What are the seating arrangements? How will students enter and exit the classroom? How will tardiness and absences be handled? How much can students interact with each other? How will homework be handled? How will missed work or makeup work be handled? What will happen when a rule is violated? How will classroom visitors be handled? Equally important is the need to share with students a daily schedule of activities. Post this schedule in the front of the classroom, and use it to let students know a daily plan of action (for elementary students) or a sequence of procedures for an instructional period (for secondary students). This schedule offers students an expectation for each day in your classroom. There's comfort in knowing how a lesson or day will be conducted. Students, just like adults, are creatures of habit, and enjoy having the security of a planned sequence of expectations. Here are two sample daily routines. Elementary Secondary Greet students Greet students at door Hang up coats Go to seats Go to seats Quick motivational activity Independent activity Take attendance Class welcome Review lesson format Salute flag, pledge Go over lesson objectives Take attendance Begin the lesson Sing a song Incorporate group work Discuss calendar, weather Independent work Lunch count Collect assignments Collect homework Dismissal procedures Discuss daily schedule Begin first lesson (Other activities will follow throughout the day.) The schedule you set on the first day will obviously be subject to change throughout the year as a result of unexpected events (guest speakers, assemblies, early dismissal, etc.). Nevertheless, students should have some expectations of how their day or a certain period will be framed. These predictable routines assure a well-managed and well-disciplined classroom. Self-Determination Expert Opinion For early elementary students, limit the choices to two (“Which book should we read todayâ€"In One Tidepool by Anthony D. Fredericks or Into the Sea by Brenda Guiberson?”). Upper elementary students and middle school students can select from three or four choices. Secondary students can be provided with an unlimited menu of choices (within reason). Teachers succeed when they share classroom management responsibility with their students. Giving students a sense of ownership in the affairs of the classroom is not only a powerful motivating force but is also a way to ensure harmony and promote group cohesiveness. From day one, it is most valuable to let students know that they will be encouraged to make choices in your classroom. Some choices will be minor; others will be major. The important thing to convey to students is the fact that this is their classroomâ€"a place that supports them in their learning just as you will support them in all their academic endeavors. Share some of the choices with students: Choosing seats Choosing a read-aloud book Selecting a game to play Deciding on classroom rules Deciding on classroom procedures Selecting rainy-day activities Establishing ways to work in groups Setting routines for obtaining materials and supplies Determining procedures for trips to the restroom

The Effect of War and Peace on Foreign Aid Dr. Toi Dennis Elaine Stewart SOC 300: Sociology of Developing Countries May 4, 2014 Introduction Afghanistan is a developing country; the country faced many difficulties soon after its independence. They faced difficulties in the development of their constitution and regulations. The selection of a leader was an issue and the first major task was to prepare a military for the defence and protection of the state. In order to resolve all these issues, finances became a priority. Despite having several problems, the country is gradually upgrading. Central and South Asia were endowed with more than double that, at fifteen billion dollars. Afghanistan has received the bulk of approximately thirteen billion in aid from which $9.95 billion was allocated to military and security assistance to train and arm Afghan police forces. In 1960, The World Bank realized the needs of Afghanistan, and developed the Aid-to-Afghanistan Consortium, where all the principal providers of money, had a meeting to discuss the assistance and support to be provided for Afghanistan. The meeting of the consortium revealed that the amount the providers supported the country with, was approximately ninety-two percent of the outstanding debt obligation. Athletes are Overpaid Free Essays

Athletes are indeed overpaid. According to the â€Å"May 2007 National Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates†, chief executives, managers, legislators, public relations persons, farmers, ranchers, educators, real estate brokers, hospital managers, and other â€Å"management occupations† only earn approximately â€Å"$40.60 per hour† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n. We will write a custom essay sample on Athletes are Overpaid or any similar topic only for you Order Now p.). The same is also true for agents of artists and athletes, logisticians, financial analysts, and other â€Å"business and financial operations occupations† who only receives about â€Å"26.87 per hour† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). Similarly, software engineers, systems analyst, computer programmers, and other workers who belong to the category, â€Å"computer and mathematical science occupations† only get â€Å"$33.21 per hour† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). Even landscape architects and civil engineers just get â€Å"$31.14 hourly† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). In addition to that, food scientists, economists, psychologists are only paid â€Å"$26.59† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). Substance abuse counselors and mental health counselors get even much lower since they are only paid â€Å"$17.87 hourly† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). This means that people who have the aforementioned occupations earn only about $40,000 – $90,000 annually (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). Meanwhile, athletes earn millions; in fact, â€Å"an average NBA player†, for instance earns â€Å"$2.2 million† (CBS Interactive Inc., 1997, n.p.). Farmers for instance play a large role in feeding people, hospital managers contribute largely in saving lives, financial analysts help a lot in making the economy flourish, engineers and architectures build shelters which is one of man’s basic need as well, mental health counselors/psychologists help people keep their sanity, while logisticians ensure the security of the country and yet these employees are only receive about $40,000 – $90,000 annually (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). Considering that athletes are paid for punching someone, running, shooting/kicking a ball, etc or for entertainment’s sake only and taking into consideration that they are not even playing a role in saving people’s lives or their job does not even require too much intelligence or thinking (unlike other people for instance educators, doctors, etc) yet these athletes receive extremely high salaries, then this only means that indeed, â€Å"athletes are overpaid† (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2007, n.p.). Diaper Industry free essay sample

For instance, the diaper must be soft and comfortable, yet it must be strong enough so it does not fall apart when exposed to moisture. It must be tight to avoid leakage, but not excessively tight to cause discomfort. It must be highly absorbent to retain moisture, yet sufficiently dry to avoid rashes. Add to this, the broad range of baby waist sizes and the varying amount of fluid release, and you have a product that embodies a highly complex set of performance requirements. This paper discusses the invention and evolution of the disposable diaper, from its beginnings as a niche, luxury product in the 1940’s, to a mass-market onsumable. In particular, we discuss the reasons why it took two decades for the disposable diaper to bridge the product adoption chasm, and specifically the challenges of designing a product that exceeded the performance of the cloth diaper, whilst achieving a cost structure conducive to its function as a disposable product. Stateless Nation Essay Example

Stateless Nation Paper The History and Geography of Gypsies Generations of homeless wanderers known as Aroma/ Romania, or gypsies, currently traverse the vast and varied landscapes of Europe, making up one of the large SST minority groups in that realm. This research paper uses the disciplines of physical, historical a ND cultural geography to explore the migration of Romania, as well as to explain the Cohoes on of gypsy society. Unfortunately, as history will show, the story of the gypsies is one of e exploitation and persecution, a tradition that endures even to the present day. Why did God even create us, if gypsies are to live like this? asked one male g yaps, Abaca, in response to the news that he and his family were having their prop retry destroyed. This story comes out of France, and it demonstrates the major conflict between Or ma and the rest of the European community: citizenship. Government constructs and bureaucrat ICC procedures which evolved to provide security to Europeans have caught one ethnic group in a p replete limbo, keeping them ever on the move after several hundred years. Without a state t o call their own, the Aroma erect encampments wherever opportunity exists. In the case of Abaca and his friends, opportunity existed in Generalities, France. Thus, you encounter men like Abaca, whose camp now lies in upheaval after the bulldozers cleared out the shopping carts and tents that had sustained his co immunity. Turning he page on the camp in Generalities, these gypsies now have three options: they can stay in France and continue to beg. The second option is to accept a gift of 300 euros from the French government in exchange for the voluntary return of the gypsies back to Aroma Nina. The powerful poverty in Romania often makes this offer hard to accept, besides the fact that t most gypsies are not even truly from Romania, and many will prefer to stay in France, begging, or they will choose the third option: to move onto another territory, a destiny which pres .NET a very familiar flavor in the mouths of these gypsies. Where they originate and why the gypsies have lived migratory lives for so mum chi of history was once shrouded deeply in mystery, due mostly to improper record keeping. Genetic testing and linguistic research eventually lead geographers to the conclusion t hat gypsies originated in the Punjab region of India, escaping into the Balkans in the 1200 sass to avoid religious persecution. The area inhabited by the Aroma of early India was under r constant attack by Sunnis and Shiite militants from Afghanistan, and eventually a small group of the affected Indians fled west into Europe. These Indians made up the Romania Diaspora w which exploded out of southeast Asian and middle eastern ancestry, entangling with European D AN during the flight of Romania away from Punjabi. The current makeup of Europe presents pocket s of gypsies all over the region, particularly in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Balkan states. Leaving India did not bring bluer skies as the gypsies might have hoped, and a pattern soon emerged whereby the Aroma were being pushed out of territory after term rotors, constantly setting up and tearing down. The churches, which had once offered gypsies a room sis of safety as they traveled freely between the European territories, came to distrust the carefree immigrants, especially as they were traveling in and out of Turkey, a home to many enemy sees of the Catholic church. King Ferdinand and his wife, Queen Isabella, began passing laws in Sp main during the 14005 which forbade the free travel of Romania people. According to an essay by Amy Motor, laws in Spain between 1499 and 1 783 passed back and forth bet en aggressive and encouraging, either attempting to expel the gypsies or facilitating their sashimi action. A wave of indignity legislation rippled through the whole continent of Europe, forcing R Oman to travel hundreds of miles in search of territory where they could live and express the messes freely. Things continued on like this for centuries, and during the second World War, gypsies constituted roughly 25% of Germanys holocaust victims. A common ensconce option is that gypsies are wanderers due to a cultural calling, but this practice Stems more a accurately from the fact that gypsies were not allowed to settle. The revulsion towards gypsies comes from deep cultural differences that are often difficult to reconcile. Forced into theft because of their widespread poverty an d lack of resources, gypsies have earned a reputation as thieves who one ought to avoid. This see d of distrust blossomed into a wealth of fables and myths which depicted gypsies as main cal heathens hell-bent on disrupting the fabric of society. Storytellers and magicians, Aroma were labeled liars and witches throughout their early travels, said to spread heresy and devils AK, pulling the rug of morality out from under the feet of otherwise good and wholesome people . It was rumored hat if parents did not keep steady watch over their children, then the children n might just find themselves the victims of a kidnapping by gypsies. Further, the Aroma were a v ere tightening group wherever they wandered, increasing speculation and suspicion relative to the mystery that they let surround them. Documents which convey racist sentiments towards t he darkening Romania have also been uncovered. Centuries of hatred have ultimately culminated in the Romania doing the same thing today that they were hundreds of years ago: wandering. Without any home to call t Eire own, the gypsies are one of the largest stateless nations in Europe. An article published by the Daily Mail in 2013 cites Manuel Balls, Frances Interior minister, demanding that gypsies return to either Romania or Bulgaria after their failure to integrate into French society, and tall KS of denying these two nations of interstate passage have circulated around the countrys political sphere. The inability of Romania to integrate is due largely to the fact that they are pro habited at every avenue from the opportunity to advance in society. Gypsy children are not allowed to tend public schools without any papers, and the parents Of these children a re likewise unalloyed to find jobs. Begging earns enough to buy food in most instances, but this profession carries no illusions of being especially lucrative. Moreover, the stigmas which surround Romania cause friction still between this thoughtfully group and the rest of their Europe mean neighbors, leading to the largesse evictions and deportation methods to who ICC many p Laotians resort. Too, the Romania represent any collaboratively group of people, having no w Ritter records since their departure from India. While many outspoken individuals within the European Union have condemned the deportations for targeting a specific ethnic group, the E Us only recourse exists in threats of sanctions against the nations that impose such policies on their gypsy populations. Unlike France, there are countries that have adopted policies meant to stabilize e the Romania. Graces government created a commission to research alternatives to deporting Aroma, investigating social programs that might foster the continued growth of the gay skies to be a stable and beneficial addition to Greek society. These programs focus attention on c hillier primarily, diving headfirst into the issue of providing them with the access to education necessary to their development. Members of gypsy society are beginning to find a media present CE as well, predominantly in the musical arts. As more and more people learn about the Aroma and their heritage, this demographic becomes a more identifiable and relatable group of individuals, and this reliability will eventually inspire the empathy that is long overdue the gay skies. Free Essays on Euripides’ Perspective

Euripides’ Perspective Hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned. Most people are familiar with this phrase, but often do not fully think about what this statement means. It means that a scorned woman’s actions aren’t comparable, even to what atrocities Hell has to offer. To say that a scorned woman’s vengefulness is to be more feared than anything in Hell is a pretty outlandish statement. It means that a woman who has been scorned is more powerful than the worst place imaginable. The theme of a â€Å"woman scorned† is definitely prevalent through out the story of Medea, which was written by Euripides, the legendary Greek playwright. Euripides voiced his opinions about Greek society, through his characters. By using the characters in his plays to comment on Greek society, Euripides was able to expose his audience to new perspectives on women’s roles in society, as well as new perspectives on religion. To summarize the story of Medea, Jason and Medea are living in Corinth with their two children. Having moved there, all of them are considered outsiders; thus they find no role for themselves in this new society. As a male of Greek heritage, Jason has a problem with this. To solve his problem, Jason plans to marry King Creon’s daughter, abandoning his family. King Creon then exiles Medea from Corinth. Needless to say, Medea is very upset about this situation. She conspires to kill King Creon’s daughter, along with her own children, just to make Jason suffer. She sends the princess a poisoned dress. Once the princess puts it on, she bursts into flames. The king then comes in, embraces his daughter’s body, which melts him to her, and then he himself dies. Then, upon hearing of their deaths, Medea puts her final action into place. She proceeds to kill her own children. She kills her own children because she knows that is the only thing that will avenge w hat Jason did to her. It is the only way to make him tr... David mamet Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

David mamet - Essay Example Some of the writings that are believed to have been influenced by the turmoil in Mamet’s childhood include the play The Old Neighborhood, which is about childhood abuse and resentment, and The Cryptogram, which is about a young boy whose parents separated (â€Å"David Mamet,† Theater Database). His interests in theater began when he was just a teenager. It was at Hull House Theater and at Second City, the famous and rich Chicago improvisational sites at the time, where Mamet worked and gained influence in his language and style of writing. It was also at this time that Mamet’s stepfather inflicted physical and psychological abuse on the Mamet family and thus the theater became for Mamet a sort of catharsis and one way by which he could forget domestic problems (â€Å"Notable Playwrights†). As a young boy, Mamet also acted in television shows and this was made possible by the director of broadcasting for the Chicago Board of Rabbis who happened to be his uncle (â€Å"Notable Playwrights†). After majoring in theater and literature in Goddard College in Vermont, he started getting famous. In fact, his first play Camel was written as a college thesis requirement at graduation and was staged in 1968. The mid-1970’s was, nevertheless, the best time of his career for it was during this time that he was able to write the most number of theatrical masterpieces, among which were the plays Sexual Perversity in Chicago and American Buffalo. Overall, Mamet has written more than 30 plays, numerous sketches, poems, essays, children’s plays, a number of Chekov’s adaptations, a book about directing a film, and over a dozen screenplays (â€Å"Notable Playwrights†). In fact, every piece of work by David Mamet was an achievement, except perhaps for the screenplay for The Postman Always Rings Twice, which was considered his â€Å"least successful effort† (â€Å"David Mamet Biography†). Thirdly it requires knowledge of the centers of stereoisomerism that are created or influenced. The steps in any synthesis are more or less dependent rather than discrete. The assembly of the molecular framework is dependent on structure and functionality of starting materials that are available, selectivity both regio and sterio of reactions for combinations and loss or relocation of functional groups of intermediate compounds in assembling final products. In conclusion, a successful syntheses route must produce desired product in reasonable good yield and with efficiency in terms of time of reaction and also byproducts. Not all processes can achieve 100% yield. The protection of existing desired functional groups is importantly inclusive of blocking of undesired reactions and activating groups. Maintain international peace and security

Maintain international peace and security The United Nations, the UN is an international organization established to maintain and strengthen international peace and security, development cooperation between States. The basis of its activities and structure developed during the Second World War, leading participants-Hitler coalition. The name â€Å"United Nations† was first used in the United Nations Declaration, signed on Jan. 1, 1942. The UN Charter was adopted at the San Francisco Conference, held from April to June 1945 and signed on June 26, 1945 representatives of 51 States. Date of entry into force of the Charter (24 October) is celebrated as United Nations Day. The organization occupies a central place as the chief deliberative, policymaking and representative organ. The General Assembly shall consider the principles of cooperation in the field of international peace and security; elects non-permanent UN Security Council members, members of the Economic and Social Council, on the recommendation of the Security Council appointed UN Secretary-General, in conjunction with the Security Council elects the members of the International Court of Justice, coordinates international cooperation in the economic social, cultural and humanitarian spheres; exercise other powers stipulated in the UN Charter. Security Council. Primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security; its decisions are expected to obey all the UN members. The five permanent Security Council members (Russia, USA, Britain, France and China) have veto power. The Security Council consists of 15 members: five members permanent (USA, UK, France, Russia and China), the remaining ten members (in the terminology of the Constitution â€Å"no standing†) were elected to the Council in accordance with the procedure stipulated by the Charter (paragraph 2 Article 23). Secretariat this is an international staff working institutions around the world and perform a variety of daily activities of the Organization. It serves the other principal organs of the United Nations adopted and implemented their programs and policies. Secretariat units are located at UN Headquarters in New York and elsewhere in the Headquarters of the UN bodies, the largest of which are the United Nations Office at Geneva and Vienna. At the head of the Secretariat is the Secretary-General who is appointed by the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council for a term of 5 years, renewable for another term. Currently, there is a gentlemans agreement that a citizen of the country a permanent member of the UN Security Council can not be the UN Secretary General. An important instrument for maintaining international peace and security are the UN peacekeeping operations. Their activity is determined by a number of General Assembly resolutions adopted in accordance with the Charter of the Organization. Implementation of the UN peacekeeping operation can be expressed as: Investigation of incidents and negotiations with the warring parties with a view to reconciliation; Verifying compliance with the ceasefire; Contributing to the maintenance of law and order; The provision of humanitarian assistance; Monitoring the situation. Human rights. On 10 December 1948 UN General Assembly adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and then recommended that all Member States to publish the text of the Declaration by the â€Å"spread, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without any distinction based on the political status of countries or territories.† Humanitarian aid. Humanitarian disasters can occur anywhere and at any time. Whatever the cause flood, drought, earthquake or conflict they always lead to deaths, displacement, loss of the ability of communities on their own to ensure their existence and bring immense suffering. In countries which have for a long time been exposed to natural disasters or recovering from conflict, humanitarian aid is increasingly seen as one element of an overall effort to ensure that peace-building, along with the development of political and financial support. Perhaps the most dramatic natural disaster in recent years has caused a tsunami in the Indian Ocean earthquake. Early in the morning Sunday, December 26, 2004, off the west coast of northern Sumatra occurred strong earthquake measuring 9.0 on the Richter scale, which resulted in a huge tsunami, which reached a height of 10 meters and move along the surface of the Indian Ocean at a speed of 500 kilometers per hour. The tsunami hit the coastal areas in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Maldives, Myanmar, the Seychelles and Somalia. It has been estimated that as of April 2005 more than 217 thousand people died, 51 thousand missing and more than half a million people homeless. Organization of the United Nations began to take measures immediately, trying to satisfy a range of humanitarian needs, including in areas such as agriculture, coordination and support services, economic recovery and infrastructure, education, family housing and consumer goods, food, health , measures related to mine clearance, protection of human rights and the rule of law, security and water and sanitation. For this purpose, 5 January 2005 was made â€Å"urgent appeal† to the mobilization of 977 million dollars to fund critical of relief efforts undertaken by some 40 United Nations agencies and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). However, despite its uniqueness, the UN has been discredited by failings and scandals. The organization has demonstrated that it is not always able to promptly adapt to rapidly changing global political realities. In this regard, the UN is often criticized for its inefficiency, undemocratic, the lack of attention to the problems of developing countries, bureaucracy, overstaffing and excessive budget. On behalf of the UN have also been linked, and some high-profile financial scandals. In one of them, the Program for Iraq â€Å"Oil for Food program, was involved even Kojo Annan (Kofi Annans son). American Commission of Inquiry program of assistance to Saddams Iraq Oil for Food has revealed the involvement of UN officials for corruption by the regime of Saddam Hussein. In addition, the number of peacekeepers and employees were indicted for sexual crimes against refugees. According to RBC daily interviewed experts inflation scandals plaguing the UN is being targeted, and above all they a re interested in the U.S. who do not want to reckon with the UN as an independent player in the international arena. Therefore, Washington was determined to discredit the organization. The new regulations the UN is an attempt to keep the organization itself and restore its shaken credibility in the world. However, it is unlikely to lead to desired results: in its current form, this organization is not able to solve the tasks assigned to it. All in all, despite the scandals and disadvantages, it can be said that the United Nations is an effective institution, which has been proven many times by its actions. The organization has many goals for the sake of the society all over the world, among them are: To maintain international peace and security and to that end: to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to peace and suppress acts of aggression or other breaches of peace and by peaceful means in conformity with the principles of justice and international law, adjustment and settlement of international disputes or situations which may lead to a breach of peace; To develop friendly relations from nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace; To achieve international cooperation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural or humanitarian character and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms to all, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion, and To be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations and the achievement of common goals.

Capital accumulation, Essay

Name two types of market failure. Explain why each may cause market outcomes to be inefficient. Externalities and Market Power. Externalaties are byproducts of a product. Exteranlities can lead to a failure because buyers and sellers do not consider the side effects, which can lead to imbalance in equilibrium based on a societal standpoint. Market Power occurs when there is a single buyer and seller (or small group of them) with the ability to control market prices. This can lead to failure because it keeps prices and quantity away from the equilibrium of supply and demand. 2. What happens to consumer and producer surplus when the sale of a good is taxed? How does the change in consumer and producer surplus compare to the tax revenue? When a product is taxed both consumer and producer surplus drop. This change in surplus is gained in tax revenue, but producers earn less and consumers get less for their value. 3. How do the elasticities of supply and demand affect the deadweight loss of a tax? Why does this effect occur? The elasticities of supply and demand affect deadweight loss in that when: supply/demand is elastic, then the deadweight loss is high. If the supply/demand is inelastic, then the deadweight loss is small. This occurs because taxes change the behavior of buyers/sellers. If tax increases price of buyers, they consume less. If tax reduces profit of producers, then they produce less. 4. What does the domestic price that prevails without international trade tell us about a nation’s comparative advantage? If the domestic price is low, then it says that county can produce that product cheaply, and has a comparative advantage. If it is high, then that country is at a disadvantage compared to other countries. What is the difference between the unilateral and multilateral approaches to achieving free trade? Give an example of each. Unilateral approach is when the country reduces trade restrictions on its own. ‘Isolandia’ removes tariffs on imports. Multilateral approach is when a country reduces it trade restrictions while other countries do the same (through bargaining) ‘Isolandia’ removes tariffs on imports if ‘Seclusia’ also removes theirs. 6. Why do economists use real GDP rather than nominal GDP to gauge economic well-being? Define the GDP deflator. Nominal GDP is GDP (goods and services produced, and their prices) calculated at current prices. Real GDP is GDP calculated at constant prices(goods ands and services produced). We use Real GDP because it reflects changes in production vice changes in prices. The GDP Deflator allows calculating only the prices of goods and services. 7. What is the CPI? Which do you think has a greater effect on the consumer price index: a 10 percent increase in the price of chicken, or a 10 percent increase in the price of caviar? Why? Consumer Price Index, is a measure of the overall cost of goods and services bought by a typical consumer. A 10% increase in chicken will have a greater affect on the CPI because more people typically by chicken than those who buy caviar. 8. Describe the three factors that make the consumer price index an imperfect measure of the cost of living. Then explain how the GDP deflator differs from the CPI. Substition Bias: Consumers substitute towards goods that cost less Introduction of new goods: A new product is introduced allowing more choices. This reduces cost of maintaining same level of economic well being. Unmeasured quality change – if a goods quality goes down, but remains at same price – then the dollar is worth less than previously. If the quality goes up, and price remains the same, then the dollar is worth more than previously. GDP deflator accounts for goods produced domestically, while CPI accounts for all goods purchased. GDP Deflator also accounts for all currently produced goods, while CPI accounts for a fixed set of goods, that may not include new goods or include goods that no longer exist. 9. List and describe the determinants of productivity. Physical Capital: Quality of tools the worker has – better quality, the more production. Human Capital: Knowledge and Skills – education, experience and training. Better training = better efficiency. Natural Resources: Resources made available for input into production. Either renewable or non-renawable. Access to resources reduces costs of importing them – but is not necessary. Technical Knowledge:Refers to societies understanding of how the world works. (Human capital refers to recources expended to transmit this understanding to its workers) 10. Explain how a higher savings rate can lead to a higher standard of living. What might deter a policymaker from trying to raise the rate of saving? Saving now and consuming less now, allows for investments and ability to consume more in the future. Diminishing returns are what might deter a policy maker raising rate of savings. At a low capital, an extra increase in capital increases production. But as you continue to invest capital, the growth of production is at a lesser amount. It continues until a point in where a large increase in capital only gives a minor increase in production.

Early experiences with art Essay

The first experience I had with art was when I was an eight year old. I was in a restaurant with my parents when the painting on the wall struck me. I was unable to take my eyes off the painting. It was absolutely stunning with myriad hues and bright colors. The painting was a replica of the ‘Renoirs Luncheon of the Boating Party’. The colors in the painting were charming, bringing out the best of the painter and his art. Life for the people seemed to be like songs with unending lyrics, going on and on, eternally like the water lapping against the sides of their boat. That moment I realized that art could bring pictures to life. That day I decide that art would be a part of my life always. I started studying the various pieces of art that I could see. The art used to make my life more meaningful. I could identify myself with most of the artists and their work. Art slowly brought a change in me. I started looking at life from a different perspective. Life seemed full of meaning for me. My parents and teachers were very supportive of my interest in art. In fact, they encouraged me to paint various portraits. My teacher took a special interest in me and encouraged me to do my best. Their words egged me on and I was able to even have a small exhibition of my paintings in my school at the age of sixteen. It was a great success. At present, though there is lesser time for me to spend on art and my artistic abilities may have dulled a little. My love for art has not decreased. I now buy paintings that are affordable and keep gazing at them for even hours at times. I have kept painting whenever I could and have gifted a few of my best paintings to friends who have admired the paintings and have accorded them a place in the wall of their houses. Since childhood, I have started admiring and studying the art of various great painters more closely. I have been able to learn the intricacies of various paintings. I have realized that paintings are an index of the painters’ feelings. The art is usually from the heart.

What to Do Before Leaving for College

Overwhelmed with everything you need to do before heading to college? Familiarizing yourself with everything on this list can help make the process easier. 1. Contact Your Roommate That first conversation is pivotal for getting to know each other, for building your relationship as roommates, and for figuring out whos going to be bringing what. A great roommate can make all the difference in school. 2. Organize All Your Purchases Knowing what to bring is just as important as knowing what not to bring. Deciding on what kind of computer youll have is also a big decision that will influence several aspects of your college life. (Can you bring it home? Is it powerful enough to run graphics programs or economic models youll need for your major?) 3. Understand Your Financial Aid The last thing you want to have happen is for finances to get in the way of your academic progress (yes, it really does matter if you miss that deadline for submitting your FAFSA). Make sure your finances are in order—and that you understand all you need to do while youre in school. 4. Make a Budget Youll need to know, from your first day on campus, how much money you can spend on certain things, whether or not youll need an on-campus job, and how much money you should have at the end of every month so you dont have to beg your roommate for food come December. 5. Take Care of Your Physical Health Picking the right meal plan and knowing how to make healthy choices in your new environment will greatly aid your time in school. Who wants to miss a midterm because of a stress-induced cold? 6. Familiarize Yourself With College Terminology If your RA tells you that the problem youre having with your TA can best be handled by the dean, will you know what all of that means? What if your cute lab partner is complaining because adjunct professors werent invited to convocation? College life is full of acronyms and new lingo: do what you can to familiarize yourself with it before you arrive. 7. Get the Most out of Orientation Everything from meeting people to making it through your first week takes a lot of courage—but pushing yourself through will make a huge difference during your entire time at school. 8. Plan to Keep in Touch With Friends and Family Its a good idea to know how to manage relationships with your boyfriend or girlfriend, parents, and even siblings. If you talk about how to keep in touch before you leave, everyone will know what to expect. 9. Develop a Time Management System Figuring out how to manage their time is often one of the biggest challenges for college students. Set yourself up early with a system that you know will work for you. 10. Keep Yourself and Your Stuff Safe The last thing you need to be worried about while in school is dealing with something that may have been preventable. Losing your computer, for example, can wreak havoc on your academics—and, if someone breaks into your room while you left the door open, can wreak havoc on your roommate relationship. Its easier to stay safe than to deal with theft. Lastly—an unofficial #11—congratulate yourself on a job well done for getting here in the first place, and have fun!
